The short version

SuperAwesome is an anti-social network. We collect the minimum we need to run your account, we don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Cookies we use

Essential only. We set a single secure, HttpOnly session cookie (sa_session) so you can stay logged in. It contains a random token — no personal data — and it's required for the site to work, so it doesn't need consent under GDPR/ePrivacy.

We use Google Analytics to understand basic, aggregated traffic (page views, approximate location, device type), which may set first-party analytics cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we never sell your data. Depending on your region you may have the right to opt out of analytics — contact us and we'll honor it.

What we store

• Your account details (handle, name, email, password — hashed, never stored in plain text).
• Content you create: posts, comments, likes, follows, and direct messages (messages are encrypted at rest).
• Media you upload (photos/videos), with location/EXIF metadata stripped before storage.
• Basic operational data such as last-seen time, to run the service.

Your choices & rights

• Privacy controls: make your account private, hide from search, block accounts, and control messaging — in Account settings.
• Deactivate or delete: you can deactivate or permanently delete your account (which erases your posts, messages, and profile) from Account settings.
• Access/updates: you can view and edit your profile and email at any time.
• Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data (GDPR/CCPA). Contact us to exercise them.
